We are pleased to have taken part in BESV held in Oslo on 25 and 26 September, bringing together more than 100 Spanish researchers and scientists from around the world.

BES is the biennial gathering promoted by RAICEX, the Network of Associations of Spanish Researchers and Scientists Abroad, created to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange, and connections among the Spanish scientific community abroad. This fifth edition focused on “Innovation and Knowledge Transfer between Academia and Industry,” with sessions around impact, finance, ecosystems, and talent.

ECUSA, the Association of Spanish Scientists in the USA, was represented at BESV by  President Araceli Valverde, who took part in the meeting alongside representatives of other RAICEX member associations. Her participation contributed the perspective of the Spanish scientific community based in the United States to the discussions on innovation, knowledge transfer, and international collaboration.

Over two intense days, participants explored topics ranging from technology transfer and venture building to European funding, private investment, research-based companies, and the development of innovation ecosystems. The meeting also provided an opportunity to share experiences and identify new opportunities for collaboration across countries and scientific communities.
